Oldaroids

These are also from some time ago, on our trip to Kansas.

Self, Some Time Ago

These were taken over a year ago, but I just found them now. I look really great, and not at all like a confused person with low blood sugar.

These are all the same stretch of wall on 12th St. off of 5th Ave. in Brooklyn. The Google Street View image shows a much simpler wall with fewer tones and layers. I wonder why they never managed to keep the same color paint on hand, but I like that they didn't.

One reason I'm so attached to my neighborhood is all its weird little juxtapositions and Tetris-like stacks.

Plants Party U.S.A. (And Elsewhere)

Norager, Denmark.

The current exhibit at Open Source is by Urban Plant Research, two artists who spot and photograph mostly wild plant life surviving and thriving in the urban landscape. After I left the gallery I started to keep more of an eye out for scrappy vegetation, but considering it took me two years to find that gallery, I probably won't spot any.

They're taking submissions for some possible future use, so I went back through my collection and found these.

I just realized how similar the composition is between this photograph of the ruins of the Cathedral of St. Paul in Macau, and this throwaway shot I took four years ago from a bus of the town hall in Lewiston, PA.

Mad Men Contest

The producers of Mad Men held a casting call contest to win a walk-on role. The contest was pretty poorly planned and executed, with the website down for the majority of the last few days of the contest. Because of the server problems, Kseniya wasn't able to upload this photo of her (which we took about three hours before the deadline). Still holding out hope for a callback about the voice of Finkles the Cat, who counsels Don Draper and serves him cherry pie in some of the more desperate fantasy sequences.

Ass Man

This guy was just... hanging out. Not sure if the driver could see him in the rearview mirror. Ba-dum.

Accidental Feet in Macau

I shot from the hip for a while on the streets in Macau. Or from mid-stomach, or somewhere around there. I ended up with a lot of feet.
